Pool play in this tournament has been challenging and rewarding as the Raptors sharpen their claws on the opposition. Wednesday nights tilt against the Buckhead Braves was suspended due to weather with the Raptors leading one to zip in the fourth. The game resumed on Thursday and eventually ended with the Raptors on the short end of a two to one score. Friday night was all Raptors as they played well in all phases of the game with only one inning threatening to give the Acworth Warriors a chance to get in it. It was just one of those games for the Warriors as everything they hit was right at someone. The Raptors won with a final score of 13-6.
On Saturday night the Raptors faced a very good Buckhead Bucks team. Early on the contest seemed to favor the Raptors but the Bucks put together a great fourth inning and pulled to within two runs. The Raptors had to play an additional inning to salt away the victory at 7 to 5.
Sunday's action found the Raptors ready for action. Their opponents, the Winston All-Stars allowed the Raptors to step out to an early lead and hold it. The All-Stars are scrappy and they kept pecking away at the lead. Both teams had good pitching and excellent fielding. In the end, the All-Stars came from behind and defeated the Raptors 11 to 10, knocking the Raptors out of the tournament.
